In planning out this week I did not factor in a series of marketing events featuring overseas VPs coming out to Australia - which kept me too busy to train for part of the week, and late in sharing this update. So here’s how I did:
Sunday I did a 5km run around Edinburgh Gardens, 7:47 min pace which sounds bad but felt great for me. There’s always another level, you know.
Tuesday I did 4.75km around Yarra Bend at 7:52 min pace. I remember being particularly burnt out with cortisol that day (the stress hormone) - I am trying to close two deals in this month and they are both coming down to the wire. Luckily working for an American company you technically have until Wednesday morning for end of month.
From Wednesday to Friday I did too much entertaining, lunches, dinners and drinks, out 'till midnight and up again at 6:30 the next day. By Friday afternoon I fell asleep as soon as I got home, determined to get back running and eating more cleanly, so on Saturday I managed 5.6km at a pace of 8:09 min. Here is a photo of me on the Yarra Boulevard bridge over the Eastern Freeway, with the city in the background (it looked better in person).
This was my slowest of the week but it felt good to get back into the rhythm and also increase my distance slightly.
Sunday I did kettlebells and put in my entertainment expenses for the last 3 days of the week - the total was about what I expected but it was still pretty high...
With a lighter schedule this week I am looking forward to longer runs and a simpler diet.
