I started Monday pretty pumped so despite being a bit sore I decided to do a recovery run which actually ended up being my best run so far, maintaining a solid pace in the 7:10 range! My phone’s battery died while I was running but it looks like I did about 7km in total, so I am happy to be getting the distance up!
My plans for an easier week were dashed when a bunch of stuff came onto my plate at the last minute. I didn’t get a chance to run on Thursday (despite a lot of walking in the city between meetings) so I made it up Friday with another 7k run, some kettlebells on Saturday, then another 7km on Sunday… the Yarra Bend route is fun because a lot of it is along the water, there are some nice hills, and the path is varied, particularly when it rains like it did on Sunday!
Here’s my runkeeper route from Friday. As the distance goes up, my pace suffers.
And finally, I came across an interesting representation of data on people's exercise habits. The data scientists will point out that correlation does not equal causation, but I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions.
Here’s to more 7km+ distances and continuous improvement to my pace!
Until next time, happy running!
