School teacher Roberto is now out of hospital and feeling great following his recent open heart surgery at University Hospital Geelong. Our CEO Stuart Thomson popped in to see Roberto and health support worker/interpreter Ricky today and found them in high spirits, ahead of their departure back to Timor-Leste on the weekend.
Roberto, who lives in the isolated western province of Oecusse, said he would love to see East Timor Hearts Fund expand its services in remote areas.
"I know how lucky I am. I hope the volunteer medical team can come to Oecusse and other remote areas next year so that other heart patients can have the same opportunity. I hope everyone gives generously to the Every Heart Everywhere appeal."
Please donate to our Every Heart Everywhere appeal before 24 December.
