Fuan Bot - a collection of images from Timor-Leste
St Vincent's Public Hospital Art Gallery
17 February - 31 March
Scarcely an hour's flight from Darwin, Timor-Leste (East Timor), one of the world's newest nations, is a place of glorious tropical beauty, where poverty-related diseases continue to devastate
some of the poorest people in Asia.
Volunteers from the Australian-based medical aid charity, East Timor Hearts Fund, work with local health institutions and practitioners to provide cardiac screening and life-saving heart surgery
in Australia for young Timorese, and to conduct research, educator and preventative health programs.
This collection of images by photographers Mathew Lynn and Susanna Rossi offer a reflection on daily life in Timor-Leste, and highlight the lifesaving work of East Timor Hearts Fund.
Proceeds from this exhibition benefit the fund's work.
